Jana Ortega, Trustee
Ms. Ortega was appointed by the Travis County Commissioners'
Court in 2007 and serves on the Planning and Operations and Public Relations Committees.
Ms. Ortega is an attorney in private practice
specializing in criminal, civil and family law. She has been
a staff attorney with the Texas Department of Insurance and
a legislative assistant to Texas Representative Dawnna Dukes.
She also worked in the Travis County Attorney’s Office
under David Escamilla. Ms. Ortega graduated cum laude from
The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in sociology
and holds a law degree from St. Mary’s University in
San Antonio.
