Martha Martinez, Trustee
Ms. Martinez was appointed in 1993 by the Austin City Council and serves on the Finance, Planning and Operations, and Community Action Network Committees and on the New Milestones Foundation Board.
Long an advocate for children’s rights, Ms. Martinez
helped organize the first National Hispanic Conference on
Child Abuse and Neglect in 1978. She is the Manager of Program
Operations for the Texas Workforce Commission, where she provides
managerial oversight and service delivery assistance to all
statewide workforce delivery boards under the auspices of
the Workforce Investment Act. Ms. Martinez has served on the
board of Austin Child and Family Services and the Community
Education Consortium. She holds an undergraduate degree in
Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin where she
has also completed hours toward a doctorate in sociology.
