Richard Hopkins, Vice Chair
Mr. Hopkins was appointed in 1992 by the Travis County Commissioners’
Court and serves on the Executive, Human Resources, and Texas Council Committees.
The Director of Programs for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission,
Richard Hopkins has been an active participant in both the
National Rehabilitation and Texas Rehabilitation associations.
He has worked tirelessly on behalf of many community organizations,
among them the Austin Capital City Lions Club and the Austin
Sickle Cell Anemia Associates. A native of Mississippi, Mr.
Hopkins holds a Masters in Education and Vocational Rehabilitation
Counseling from Jackson State University and received his
Bachelor of Arts degree from Tougaloo College. His expertise
in employment issues has been of great assistance to ATCMHMR.
